Boomer is a grand older guy, with the wonderful, thick coat of the chow and the big, sturdy body of that breed, too. He was once well loved and cared for, but his family lost it's home to foreclosure and there was nowhere for this big dog to go. He is a very loving dog and misses having a family very much. He is very healthy and in excellent condition. As you can see from his picture, he is currently shedding his winter coat. He has been well socialized and has lived with other dogs all his life. His best friend, Sugar, is also on our site. He would love to find a new home with her, as he loves her, but he can also be adopted separately. If you are looking for a senior dog, still in really good shape and ready to watch the sunsets with you, long out of the tear up the house puppy stage, then you have found him in Boomer. This guy would like to take calm walks with you and stretch out in a soft spot, preferably near your feet, and look up at you with love and contentment. He would be so grateful for any little thing you did for  him and would be a calm and happy influence on your life.
