| Summertime is as hard on dogs as it is on us. Please be aware of the heat and make sure your dog is receiving enough fresh water.. they can dehydrate quickly and could lead to death. This is a time of year when it's better to leave your pet at home than take for errands unless you do NOT plan to get out of the car. Be alert to the pavements where you walk your dog as they are VERY hot and your dog does not have shoes to protect his feet... it is also through panting and the feet that dogs release heat from their bodies. Watch the temperatures and keep your dog safe!!! Excessive heat can lead to death!! |

Did you know that black dogs are the last to be adopted and the first to be put to sleep in shelters. Yet some of the best breeds are black and are so incredibly gentle, loving with the best temperaments. They usually are breeds that are excellent with children and other pets, including cats. Please do not overlook these very special dogs just because they are black dogs!
